Using the Main eMail VOICELink Window

When you start eMail VOICELink the first thing to appear is the main window. This is where you initiate all message actions.

This window is similar to many email programs. It allows you to enter destination email addresses, a subject line, and a text message. eMail VOICELink allows you to select email addresses from its own address book or from your existing email program address book. See Using the eMail VOICELink Address Book for more information on using address books.

You can choose to create a message that include sound, graphics, or both by selecting the Voice or Graphics options before clicking Record Message . Selecting Voice causes the recording controls to display when you click Record Message . Selecting Graphics and clicking Record Message causes the Whiteboard template selection window to appear.

The tables below list the menus and commands available from the main window.

File Menu Commands

Command	Description
Send Message	Click to send a composed message to the specified destination.
New Message	Click to start a new message.
Open Message	Click to open a saved message.
Save	Click to save the current message.
Quit	Click to quit eMail VOICELink.

Edit Menu Commands

Command	Description
Undo	Click to reverse the last action performed.
Cut	Click to remove selected text and temporarily hold it in the clipboard.
Copy	Click to copy selected text and temporarily hold it in the clipboard.
Paste	Click to insert the contents of the clipboard at the cursor location.
Delete	Click to remove selected text.
Select All	Click to highlight all text in the area.

Tools Menu Commands

Command	Description
Preferences	Click to open the Object Properties dialog box. Options include mail server information, user information,and user signature.

Help Menu Commands

Command	Description
Help Contents	Click to display online help.
Register	Click to display the registration form. Once you fill in the text boxes, click OK to email the form to Softlink.
Technical Support	Click to connect directly to the support web page.
Purchase Online	Click to connect directly to the Softlink product web page where you can purchase products online.
Home	Click to connect directly to the Softlink web site home page.
About	Click to display program information, version number, and copyright information for eMail VOICELink.

Sending an eMail VOICELink Player

One of the unique features of eMail VOICELink is the ability to attach a eMail VOICELink message player to your email to ensure that the person receiving the message can view it exactly as recorded. You won't have to worry whether or not the recipient has the correct software. You can send either a Macintosh or Windows version of the player.
